Lenovo Laptop with Windows 10 Prof not booting

My Lenovo Laptop with Windows 10 Professional is not booting and gets stuck at the first Logo Screen. How do I reformat the hard drive to freshly re-install Windows 10 with my Windows 10 installation DVD? Existing data on the hard drive not to be saved. Please help urgently.

If you don't want to save files you may be able to reset remove file or clean install.
If you want to save files and reinstall windows you may be able to perform a reset save files equivalent.
Another option is to troubleshoot the failed boot.

To perform a clean install, or reset save files equivalent, or troubleshoot the failed boot, create a bootable windows10 iso.

Find a flash drive you format (> or = 8 GB)

In case you want to troubleshoot the failed boot or attempt to save files communicate that in the threads.

After the clean install, install all applicable drivers displayed on the Lenovo website.
Then perform windows updates to update all drivers.
    Then install applications.

Once you have a successful clean install you can make a backup image and save the image on an external drive or in the cloud.
For backup images you can use Acronis, Aoemi, EaseUS, Macrium, Paragon, etc.
There are free and pay versions depending on the features desired.

Macrium is widely used in Ten Forums.

To boot to a USB flash drive you can boot to the bios and temporarily modify the BIOS boot order so that the external HD is on top.
This is a link for booting by computer manufacturer including F keys:

Shouldn't be possible to change the boot order to boot off the dvd to get to the recovery menu? I believe there is an option
on the install now page to repair the computer.

You first make a Win 7 Live bootable USB and then go to your BIOS and select UEFI boot from Flash Drive and then your system will boot into Win 7 Live and there you can recover your data and then you will have to make a Win 10 Bootable USB or use a CD to do this operation and then Boot from it and reinstall the Win 10 and now you are good to go.

All system that are UEFI based have a one time boot menu capability. That is the right way to boot from a flash drive or CD/DVD rather than changing the boot order. Especially true with USB flash as you can e3asily end up in a boot loop if your not careful.

I have given up. I think the Laptop BIOS (UEFI) is kaput. The Laptop (Ideapad Z550) is not booting because of that. It was my grand-daughter's Laptop and I have asked her to have the BIOS changed to make it bootable. Case is closed and thanks to everyone who have added to this thread and helped.
