    Which startup items?

I am wondering which of the startup items I can disable, other than the ones I already have disabled. For example, I use Photoshop every day repeatedly, and I don't know if I have to have Adobe CC in the startup menu. Please tell me which items on the list I should probably disable. My concern is overly long boot times.

All the adobe ones (update manually (you might need the cloud one)), ccleaner (ditto), java (ditto).

    Hey battlezone,
Adobe stuff probably put entries in Windows Services and Task Scheduler, might want to check those and disable accordingly.

    Thanks for the replies.

Java cannot be disabled (greyed out). IIs that because I am not logged in as an administrator right now? If I remember correctly I need Java for HFS Explorer to work properly. The Java updater I should be able to turn off without any resulting issues. right? If a Java update becomes available, will I still get an update notification?

I will look into the Adobe entries but don't know what to check for in Windows Services and Task Scheduler and how to know what exactly I may disable.

Use Autoruns for a much better report of what startup programs / tasks / services / drivers load on boot. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sys...loads/autoruns

If you don't need Java, I would uninstall it altogether.

    Hi, do you mean
    a. time from boot to login prompt
    or
    b. time from login prompt to startup loading complete, desktop displayed?

Items in the startup list above only affect (b).

If you wish to analyse your boot time, please see (e.g.)

Autoruns (run as admin) disables entries by adding a 'Disabled by Autoruns' entry in the registry for each disabled startup item and you don't even see them in task manager anymore!
