    Cpu Temps massive jump help


    Cpu 100 degrees at 100 percent load at 4.5ghz speed but if CPU speed at 4.4ghz it is max 75 degree's why is there such a massive temp difference?

    It could be time to redo the the thermal paste.

    It would help if you posted the make/model of your case and your CPU cooler.

    It's like anything else... when you get near the "top end", things start happening... fast.

    Sort of like an engine in a race car. They're fine until you go past a certain rpm... then things get weird.
    The 7700K has a base frequency of 4.2 Ghz... it's max. turbo frequency is 4.5 Ghz.

    The CM EVO 212 is OK for lower TDP CPUs. But the 7700K is a 91w TDP processor.
    I also use a CM Hyper 212 EVO but I have TWO fans on it... push/pull, and that's just on a 65W TDP CPU.

    I also have 7 case fans.

    When I run the CPU at 100%... it goes up to approx. 72-75C and stays there, because of all the cooling.


    Also... I keep my room temp at approx. 64F, which helps as well.
