Can't get Panasonic Viera TV to recognize home wifi?
I am having a big problem trying to get my Panasonic tv onto my PC's computer's wifi network so that I can use the tv's vieracast. Here are some threads from a post on another forum. I am terrible when it comes to networking and I hope these threads make sense:
I have a Panasonic TC-P50V10, a Windows 10 PC, a Comcast Arris TG1682G. Before the recent Arris was installed, I was able to use the Panny's VieraCast, but after install I can't make the wireless connection. Before the new modem install, I had a "regular" Arris modem and a Linksys router which allowed the Vieracast to work. I am now having a devil of a time getting things back into order. When going to the Panny's Network settings and then running the automatic connection test, I get the following error message: Home network is available. IP not acquired. For vieracast use, check router's connections and settings (eg, DHCP).
What I have from comcast is a combined modem/router that was changed for comcast's first modem and my router about 1-2 years ago. Before the change, vieracast was working, but I haven't looked at vieracast again until yesterday at which time I discovered that I could no longer get vieracast because of the above mentioned problem. Yesterday I also noted that the present comcast modem's ethernet cable was not hooked into the computer. I hooked it in before I started trying to establish a network connection between the TV and the modem. BTW, the modem's wifi is working as evidenced by my wife's iPad and iPhone being able to go wifi at home. Also, when trying to add a device (the tv) to devices in Windows 10, the tv is not detected??? whereas all my other peripherals are??? The tv's operating manual can be found here: Panasonic Product Support - TC-P50V10
