Dell 690 Ethernet card - which is best for me

Im using an old Dell 690 desktop pc. My ISP is capable of over 1144mps however I'm only getting 350mps. Im thinking its the Broadcom Net Xtreme 57xx Controller slowing things down. Is there an Ethernet card I can buy that will enable me to get the most out of my possible internet speed? I would be so grateful for any advice. Thank You

Welcome to the forum the network card is a gigabyte card so its not that as such what cable are you using cat6 or cat 7 is needed what speed does the card connect at often it wont connect at the right speed see properties of card.

What are the spec of the dell most 690 are only 2 cores so the pc may not be able to cope

I looked up the Network adapter and it's Gigabit so if the Router is also Gigabit maybe the Modem [usually provided by the ISP] needs to be looked at.

That is likely to be a Modem issue/limit, assuming Ethernet is 1 Gbps.

Look up the detailed specs for your Modem/Router. The Modem is the bit that connects to your ISP.

e.g. Mine is limited to 100 Mbps for the Modem, the Ethernet ports being 1 Gbps.
