Unable to access files on Windows 11 pc from Windows 10 pc

Hi, not sure if this is a win10 or win11 issue. I'm trying to remotely access files stored on a Windows11 pc from my Windows10 pc.
I've set sharing permissions on the Windows11 drive to "Everyone" with full access (see attachment) but at my Windows10 pc, although I can see the remote drive as listed, I get the message that access is denied when I try to open it in file explorer.
Can anyone offer any advice please?

Hi, is this a new network you are configuring- or are you adding a device to an existing network?

Are you familiar with configuring network sharing?

Share Files and Folders Over a Network in Windows 10
    Option 1
    - is your starting point.
Check through all of that on both PCs. I had to do it twice the first time I did it.

User Try3 has several times posted a networking checklist.

There are numerous threads on tenforums about networking configuration problems. Please feel free to search tenforums and use those for ideas.

Sadly networking is tedious and tricky to get working, and rather fragile- though once working it usually remains so - unless something changes to affect it.

My guess is you need to check sharing permissions/ passwords, noting you've shown part of that.

Thanks. It all worked fine while I had both computers on Windows 10 !! I thought I'd set all the passwords and permissions the same, but obviously missed something. I guess it's a lot more reading, starting with your recommendation.

You have set share permissions but you also need to set NTFS permission on the folders your connecting to if it personel folders the have special permissions

Ah- you upgraded... I can empathise.

I had my 2 on build 1903- fine- then I updated one to 21H1 I think.. and networking started to break. Fixed it, then 21H2 broke it- until I upgraded the OTHER PC. Never found out what the issue was.

    Hopefully you'll be luckier..
