Can't connect to network share after changing Microsoft password

I used to connect to file shares on my PC using my Microsoft account credentials. My Windows account is using my Microsoft account. Since I changed my Microsoft password, I can no longer connect to my file shares from a remote device using my old or new credentials. I've disabled my firewalls, my other devices are on the same network, my file and printer sharing is on and I've created another local admin user who's credentials work instead. Does anyone have any ideas how I can fix this without rebuilding my entire Windows profile?

I think Compumind is correct.
In Control panel, Credential manager, Windows credentials there is a sub-heading that's also called Windows credentials.
Note that you can backup the credentials before starting to change anything.
You should see an entry called by the name of your network computer.
I suggest you delete that then, when you next try to connect to the network computer, authorize the connection using that new local Admin you've just created.

I have not noticed anybody reporting having done this procedure before so please do report back so your experiences can help others who might land on this thread in the future.
