Router created superfluous computer in my network

Router created superfluous computer in my network-capture2.jpg

As this image shows, my Linksys EA7300 router has created an extra "computer" in my network that carries my network's name. Ideally, the list should only show the three computers I have in my network (which are the ones not circled). I know the extra computer is caused by my router, but it serves no purpose being there. Does anyone know how to remove it from the list of computers on the network page and prevent it from showing up again? Thanks for an help.

The router has not created anything. Network Discovery assumes that the router is a device that has the possibility with different firmware to have extra capabilities that the user of the device can activate.

have you blocked devices metadata info download from the web ? if not it will probably be renamed.

Mine that is just a plain 2 port Gigabyte Ethernet router has become, A Linux Internet Gateway Device and been moved to Network Infrastructure.

Your router has File Sharing, Media Streaming and FTP support, Maybe Windows didn't get it Right.

Also Authorizing Web metadata for devices made Windows get my TVs right.

The firmware of the router is up to date. Should I install to a previous firmware version? Is there a way to get this device to not show up in my networks list?

I would not roll back firmware. Check inside the configuration console if you can disable unneeded things... if impossible I would leave it as is.

No, because it is what it is.

The purpose of it being there is that if you should plug a usb drive into the router, it would appear under that 'computer' as a shared drive that you could access from your other computers.
