For me the script produces 192.168.2.215 IP address and 2003:f3:..... as the IPv6 address (too long to type). I'm not that well versed in the IPv6 addresses and so I'm not sure whether this is the "internal" address assigned by the router - which would be my guess - or not. Moreover, seeing that I'm on a dynamic IP address provided by my carrier, I don't think that the IP address is that sensitive (it changes all the time) and I do give it to all websites I visit anyways.

Otherwise, the script provides a lot of potentially useful info to test basic connectivity. However, given that I know I'm connected, my more pressing concern would be to test for potential issues affecting the "speed". I know that this is a much broader topic than @Paul Black intended here, but very often I notice that the "speed" as I'm feeling it - namely how long does it take for a website to open - changes a lot between my different installs. I know that not everything here depends on my machines (given potential network issues, traffic, server issues, etc.), but I'm sure various settings and configuration choices on my machines are affecting this and I would like to make sure they are "optimized" somehow. Perhaps someone who's more knowledgeable than me on that issue could put together a basic guide.

    Thanks for the input.

As far as your interesting question above is concerned, you will be better off starting your own Thread in the Network and Sharing Forum. As you have already mentioned, this Thread is for a basic extraction of data ONLY when there is a Network problem.
