cannot write to readyshare drive SOLVED

I have two hard drives connected to the router (XR500). They have both worked perfectly in the past. One is a Western Digital and the other is a Seagate. They are mapped in W10 Pro to M: And N: respectively. I can copy a file to N: but not to M:. I believe it is a permissions problem but cannot solve it.

The ERROR, permissions for N: and permissions for M: (for comparison) are attached.

    Router firmware 2.3.2.130
    Winver 21H1 build 19043 build 1348

    Hello @WacoJohn,

I have noticed that you have NOT had ANY replies, so I thought that I would try and help.

[1] Have you tried updating the Router Firmware? A search on Google or a phone call to your ISP will help with this.

[2] It does appear that it could be a permissions problem. Have a look at these . . .

    > How to Change Owner of File, Folder, Drive, or Registry Key in Windows 10
    > How to Change Permissions of File, Folder, Drive, or Registry Key for Users and Groups in Windows 10

    I hope this helps.

And what a gentlemen you are. Thank you immensely. The problem is solved and I was headed here to update the thread when I found your kind reply. The problem drive, attached to the router, kept giving a write error and though it was hard to narrow down the problem, I ejected from the router, hooked up to a W10 laptop, did a file by file copy to another hard disk (no errors copying), formatted it Quick/NTFS/Default parameters. Moved files back to it, connected it to router, and all has been fine ever since.

    Thank you again, Sir.
