    Remote Desktop access questions

I'm trying to setup Remote Desktop on my home network between a desktop PC running Win10 Pro and a Intel NUC also with Win10 Pro. Both computers are logged in with my microsoft account.

The only way I can get any access at all is by disabling "Require computers to use Network Level Authentication to connect (recommended)." under the advanced menu in the Remote Desktop settings window. If that option is enabled and I try to connect I get an error "An authentication error has occurred. The Local Security Authority cannot be contacted." I'm using my Microsoft account credentials to try and connect.

If I disable the Network Level Authentication I can connect to the NUC, but it brings me to a user login screen with "Other User" and I cannot login past this. See attached pic.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Hello @joelshort,

I have noticed that you have NOT had ANY replies, so I thought that I would try and help.

I do NOT actually use it myself, but have a look at these . . .

    > How to Add a Remote Desktop Connection in Remote Desktop app on Windows 10 PC
    > How to Enable or Disable Remote Desktop Connections to a Windows 10 PC
    > How to use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to and from your Windows 10 PC
    > How to Change Global Settings in Remote Desktop app on Windows 10 PC
    > How to Allow or Prevent Users and Groups to Log on with Remote Desktop in Windows 10

Also, have a look at the Related Tutorials at the BOTTOM of the above Tutorials [ there are a few ], as they may also be related and help resolve your problem.

    I hope this helps.

Sorry I forgot to update this thread. The problem ended up being a windows credential issue. In Credential Manager I had to delete the credentials that were there and set them up again. Now I can use Remote Desktop as intended.
