    Remove files from OneDrive?

Latest update to W10. I mistakenly put some files into OneDrive that I don't want in a cloud. When I tried to remove them, I got a notice that I'd also be removing them from my hard drive. Could have been that the files weren't fully loaded to the cloud at that time. Anyway, now that these files are fully loaded into the cloud, how can I remove them from the cloud but still maintain them on the computer's hard drive? Thanks.

First, make sure the copies are on your hard drive. If not, copy and paste contents from Onedrive folders per below screenshot and re-locate to a This PC folder. Then delete unwanted files from Onedrive folder and run sync to delete those files from Onedrive cloud

I DON'T use OneDrive myself, but I thought I would try and help. Maybe one of these will be useful . . .

     OneDrive

These Tutorials are listed in alphabetical order as opposed to relevance order.

    I hope this helps.

OK, I have removed the files/folders I did not want on the cloud, however when going to File Explorer>OneDrive, these files/folders are still showing under OneDrive. As they have been removed from the cloud, can I now simply delete them from File Explorer>OneDrive? These files/folders were taken from another folder that still exists within File Explorer. My fear is that if I remove from OneDrive, I may be removing them from the computer's hard drive???

YES, I do this often, copy certain pictures from This PC Pictures to share publicly on Onedrive. These are COPIES of hard drive files so if I delete from cloud, does not affect hard drive status. Way to think about this, is that Onedrive Documents and This PC Documents are two SEPARATE folders. Some content may differ depending what you want to store offline but only the Onedrive files are in the Cloud and does not affect what is on your main drive.

One way I was able to keep GoogleMyDrive and Dropbox <--> my parallel hard-drive contents from automatically adding/deleting each others' stuff was to not enable either GoogleDrive nor Dropbox sync. I "sync manually".
