    Public or Private Changing

Going nuts again! My puters that are ok with what is told on the net is correct. But, one is not, I click on properties when I bring up connections, does not bring a way to change the profile. 2004 must have changed something again. This is WFi which should mean nothing.

If you search for changing to public or private, you will see what I mean

    Hi Ken

So if you click Start > Settings > Network and Internet > on right hand side under status > Change Connections Properties

you do not have option to make Private?

Have you tried "Forgetting Network" and then re-establishing.

Have you tried a Network Reset? (May require VPN's or other special comm software to be reconfigured).

    Hello Ken,

In addition, you might see if you are able to change the network location using an option in the tutorial below.

Set Network Location to Private, Public, or Domain in Windows 10

That is the problem selection of public/private is nowhere to be found. I did remove, reset and secpol.msc > Nada
Looks like my favorite, repair install is what I will try next. Now where did I put that usb stick ?

    Happiness is Windows !!

    Sounds right.

Surprised Option 4 of Brink's tutorial didn't work.

I never install Feature updates in their first couple of months, only on non-critical devices.

Repair install didn't work WHAT !! First time for me.
Time to leave it alone till tomorrow. Over the years I have had telephone system problems that screwed me for 10 hours, go home, next morning fixed in 30 minutes, more than once.

I am not the only one with WiFi problems in 2004. Thank you MS a-holes
