I get the same results. It is normal.

It is not required that a server respond to ping requests and many don't. In many cases ping is explicitly blocked by the firewall protecting the server. The protocols used by ping can be used in denial of service attacks. Ping is not a necessary function and blocking it is a part of keeping a busy server operating.

Many high demand servers block ping. It is my understanding that most Microsoft websites do this.
    "ping microsoft.com" doesn't work either.

Ditto! As a diagnostic I ping a couple of known sites when working on Internet problems just to verify the Internet is working.

Note that ping and tracert use the same technology so if ping fails tracert will as well. It will just take longer to fail. At least with Windows 10 you can do a tracert by doing a series of ping requests. Start with "ping hostname -i n". Start with n=1 and increasing by 1 until it reaches the final destination. You can continue past a "request timed out" return and possibly eventually reach the final destination. tracert gives up at 30 hops but you can go further but this is usually pointless.

Tracert is okay, gives up to 30 'hops' or Servers/IPs with 1 attempt, ping is simpler with showing 4 attempts to the same IP.
