Problem Sharing Files Between 2 W10 Laptops

Hi all I hope this is the correct place to post this question.

So i have 2 Toshiba laptops and I have them in a workgroup so that Laptop 1 (1803) can sync files with Laptop 2 (1803) using Free File Sync.

I rebuilt Laptop 2 using Macrium the other day and now I cant seem to see Laptop 2 from 1.

I have tried to re add Laptop 2 to the workgroup and also reshared the folders that I want to share.
In doing this I have added the group Everyone and given it Read/Write permissions
Ive also checked that network sharing is on too.

    What am i doing wrong

and is there a better more secure way to do this? essentially I just want to sync some files between the 2 laptops

    TIA Bart

Can you connect via IP instead of name NetBIOS takes some time to update. The simple way to do this is use OneDrive or Google drive. You save files to the folder and it will be synchronised without you doing anything. You need to update your windows as support for old versions like yours is running out

Make sure Laptop 2 belongs to a Private and not Public network.

If this didn't get solved please see this tutorial and ensure settings are as per document.

Share Files and Folders Over a Network in Windows 10

Then make sure both PC are in same workgroup. Right click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl

The workgroup is right under the computer name.

Finally do a Network reset on both devices and restart the computers. A network restart will cause you to forget wireless passwords, may require VPN type software to be installed and will set the network to Public. Please change public back to private in Network and Internet.

    Thanks Ken

After rebuilding both machines and both now on v1909 sharing between them has been resolved
