    Desktop Shortcut Icons

    Hello,
Recently I noticed some small icons added over my desktop shortcuts. The icons were always clean, I even managed to remove the arrows once.
Now there is over them sort of couple of human figures, as on attached screenshot.
How to remove it so the icons will be clean again.
    Answers will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Motim

    Hello Motim,

That overlay on the icon indicates they have been shared.

You may have shared your Desktop folder since it's on the icons of all files on your desktop.

If this is the case, the tutorial below can help show you how to stop sharing them to have the overlay removed.

    Hello Brink,
This is a real great tutorial. First of all I do not know how it happened and where it came from. I am the only one admin / user of my computer, no body else, not even over the net. Tried to use option 5 in your tutorial, the lock icon is grayed as on attached screenshot and inoperative.
After a while the share icons from the desktop shortcuts gone, do not know how. Ran twice Defender full scan - no findings.
This morning started computer - so far so good.

    Thanks for the answer.
