Not able to connect to wifi after windows 10 update

Hi All, In my HP pavilion 15 notebook pc e3b55pa#acj I'm not able to connect to wifi after an windows 10 latest update To find the issue I did a windows network diagnostics, it shows the below issue "you have no preferred wireless networks"After I tried the below troubleshoot options I"m getting the below error when running the windows network diagnostics "None of the networks you have previously connected are in range" "A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken"It had no issues prior to upgrading to Windows 10 latest update. A short time later the WiFi stopped connecting with the Network Icon showing a red cross and the message not connected, no connections available. And I'm able to connect using my mobile hot spot access but not able to connect using my wifi The wireless network adapter is a Ralink RT3290 wireless 802.11 bgn wifi adapter. In Device Manager there are no errors indicated with the device or its drivers, and in Control Panel - Network Connections the WiFi icon shows full green bars but a red X.I even updated the latest wifi driver(wifi Driver Version 5.0.57.0) but no user still having the same issue I tried below options to trouble to the issue Disabling the Power Off option for the adaptersResetting the TCP/IP settingsUpdating/Reinstalling the network adapter drivers (multiple times)Resetting the windows 10 But nothing worked for me Please help me to resolve this issue, lot of work is pending for me because of the wifi issue Regards,Prabhu Krishnan

Uninstall the Device and driver in Device Manager and let Windows reinstall when it boots. If it cannot find the correct driver, install from your computer manufacturer website, since the Ralink network adapters are OEM devices only. Personally, I would just replace the onboard adapter with one that does Wireless AC, with 5ghz capabilities.

I am using an ASUS laptop with Qualcom Atheros AR9485 WB-EG Wireless network Adapter. I am facing the same issue since Windows 10 version 1803. Periodically, it fails to connect to my home wi-fi whereas other neighbouring Wi-fi-s are detected. When I check its status I get the report, "This device is working properly". The original driver of the manufacturer has been replaced by Microsoft Driver during Windows Update. The problem has been reported through "Feedback" in 'Help us make Windows better", in Microsoft Community as well as in Tenforums earlier. None of the suggested solutions solved the issue permanently. I have installed "Wireless Wizard" as suggested here earlier. Someone suggested changing the Band setting of the Network Adapter. However, this facility is not available in my device. Resetting the IP after switching off the Wi-fi & restarting sometime helps.

Press the Windows and "R" keys simultaneously + R, type "devmgmt.msc" into the "Run" box and click "OK". When Device Manager starts, expand "Network Adapters", right-click the wireless adapter, select "Update driver", "Browse my computer for driver software", then "Let me pick from a list of available drivers". If one is found, install it. You may have to restart the computer for the change to take effect. If this doesn't help, you might try going to "Settings", "Update and Security", "View Update History", "Uninstall Updates" and uninstall the update.

You also have to uninstall the actual device, not just driver.

Having a similer problem and my solusion was this
1: in the search box in the lower left of the screen type in "services" and click on the services app
2: Scroll down and find WLAN AutoConfig and click on it to highlight it
3: click on "start the service" in the top of the left hand panel.

For some reason after the last update several services are not being started even though they are marked Automatic. WLAN, Windows Audio and Print Spooler are the 3 I have found so far. You have to do this after each reboot.

If it works at your friend then it sounds like the drivers and services are OK.

One other possibility is that your WiFi network profile for your home network got corrupted by the update. Try deleting it then set up a new connection to your home WiFi.
