How to delete Recent?

    How to delete Recent?


    Start Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Press Home.
    "Recent" shows previous opened files.
    This list can be emptied by pressing Alt-R then R-click "Clear unpinned items".
    Similarly for Folders.
    Can these lists (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, .. ..) be emptied other than by opening the application?
    (Deleting all directories under /c/Users/ that incorporate the name [Rr]ecent doesn't quite do it, though lots of other associated histories are usefully deleted.)

    Open Word (or Excel), under File / Options go to Advanced and scroll down to Display.

    Change the number of recent files to 0
