Some people intervene without reading and understanding the thread history. Sometimes even ruthless. That can be proved easily. In my opinion that contradicts the sense and spirit of support. I also know that there are many ways to a solution. Sometimes you get a solution to a problem which is not the best solution an just a compromise. This way is often a dynamic process and a lot of wrong commands are irritating the threadstarter more than helping him. There are enough examples where Megahertz placed the EFI-Partition somewhere in the middle of the disk. That is a result that works but not a good solution and not in my sense. Meanwhile I found the step where we lost the WinRE.wim. But that is not a big problem because in an upgrade to WIN 11 it will be replaced anyway. But we are very close to our target.

    Some clearance

    # 1 Windows Boot Manager is our new created EFI-Partition
    # 2 is the old EFI Partition changed to "W-B-M" and not further specified in the Gigabyte screenshot

    So select # 1
and run the commands from post # 123

If the partition 2 is still not deleteable boot into USB and delete it.

You could save the commands from # 123 into a notepad txt-file and copy it to your USB-Stick as well.
If you need help let me know

This partition can be deleted even in disk management once the "System" tag is gone. It has stopped being an EFI System Partition to Windows already, but it's still one to UEFI and keeps on being used.

Got this, when I opened PC this morning. Delayed installation. Can I go ahead with it? It said it would download in the background and install with the next Windows Update, in the next 24 hours.

@Pentagon, no doubt you're a good technician and know the subject.
Your problem is that you make things so complicated where they can be simple.
You throw up a lot of commands without explaining why and what they do. That isn't helping OP. You're doing the fix for him but he isn't learning anything.
You're right when you say that I have given instructions to create a EFI at the end of the C: partition. Why not? M$ mbr2gpt app also creates a EFI at the end of the C: partition without creating a MSR partition.

I'm watching this thread since the beginning. As you can see, after more than 100 posts it isn't fixed.
I posted two easy and fast ways to do the fix on post #108

You have to learn to be more modest and suggest simple solutions.

Just disable non M$ anti virus and run setup.exe. It is called an in place upgrade. You will have Win 11 in 40 min.
