    You should have been using disk imaging - and you should check your disk.

    I.e. what's the source of corruption that led to this.

    Check disk (as I said above)
    Clean install (see tutorial).

    Presumably since the mouse and keyboard work during the reset process, just not after windows has reinstalled.

    Erm, a bit difficult while I can’t use that pc.

    Boot from a Win 10 installation drive and at the Windows Setup screen, press Shift+F10 simultaneously to open a command line prompt. Type:
    diskpart
    list vol (take note of the Windows partition letter. It may not be C:)
    exit
    chkdsk X: /f (replace X with the letter found with list vol. Pay attention on the results)
