HP51CS touchscreen laptop NEW SSD install?
.
I have this HP HP51CS touch screen laptop with 10 Home @ 22H2, Ver. 19045.3693 (with Win Feature Experience Pack 1000.19053.1000.0). I downloaded the win 10 file onto an 8GB flash drive, & want a clean install onto my SSD. I will be saving the old HDD for the files/programs I need as I come across the need for them (files/pictures & stuff) using a USB transfer from the old HDD to this new SSD after new OS install. I believe the laptop is currently a UEFI (if called that) so isn't the OS serial number already imprinted into the MB? I believe I should be going into BIOS to 'boot' the flash drive, and hopefully going on from there following the prompts. If this is the case (I used to just put a DVD with the OS in the optical drive), but it has been too long and I have never done an upgrade like this.
Anyway, will this be a plug-n-play install including it's activation? If not, is there a simple tutorial geared for this SSD upgrade? I don't want all the trouble of cloning, or moving onto the SSD, of any of the old files/programs. Since my mini-strokes of late it is getting more confusing to read/follow all the complications of doing this with the cloning so I just want to start over with a blank win 10 OS install then add as I see fit (and when I feel like delving into reinstalling software). The 8GB win 10 OS file was downloaded about 5 months ago from MS and at that time was put on the flash drive per the instructions (hence been trying to read up and follow all the steps to get this done). I do have all the HP drivers after install so if MS has generics take over until I can install HP drivers, should I be OK? Might have to get a new user name like oldmega10user as I find it harder to concentrate of late.
So, is there a simplified HDD swap for this touchscreen laptop, without all the confusing steps?
Thank you, in advance, for confirming a simple process?
