What Date Is Microsoft Using For Installation Media Image ?

Thinking about a laptop I have and reinstalling Windows 10 on it. The laptop hard drive was wiped.
I was wondering if I downloaded the media creation tool etc on another computer to carry out this process what image Microsoft is using. (ie: what month) Does anyone know ?
    Thanks.

It's usually a month, maybe two behind the latest patch Tuesday.
On rare occasions it may be even 6 months behind. Keep in mind that all patch Tuesdays are "cumulative" updates.
So there won't be too many, no matter how far behind the MCT ISO is.

Generally , after using the Media Creation tool for a clean install or an In-Place upgrade... the first thing after it's finished... check for any Windows Updates.

Simple answer: There's no fixed date. It depends on the channel you're in, what version you're on, and mysterious Microsoft thingies.

MCT downloads the May 2023 image.

MS doesn't refresh the ISO or MCT every month, but locks it to key milestones like the first manufacturing release (RTM) or critical fixes. The May 2023 re-release pushes out UEFI security features they want everyone to use moving forward.

After you install the image, it's assumed Windows Update will bring your system up to the current month.

I have found after a clean install and you check for updates that you have to check for updates multiple times. In other words, when one set of updates is finished then check for updates again. Keep doing this until no more updates are found. This will save you a lot of time and bring you up to date faster.
