Win 10 Installation Repair Option Not Helpful

When I insert my USB drive used to install Win 10 Pro and select the Repair option a menu appears..
The menu has 3 options: Continue, Troubleshoot and Turn off PC.

If I select Troubleshoot a menu appears with options for System Restore, Go Back to Previous Version and Image Replacement.
If I select System Restore it says "No restore points have been created."
If I select Go Back to Previous Version, it says not available.
If I select Image Replacement it says not available.

What do I need to do to make these features available?

Hi, see screenshots here for reference:
Boot to Advanced Startup Options in Windows 10

If I select System Restore it says "No restore points have been created."
    - Please you confirm you had enabled System Restore and that you know there were restore points.

If I select Go Back to Previous Version, it says not available.
By default, this is available for 10 days after a build upgrade - extendable to 60 days by the user.

When did you last upgrade your PC?

    Perhaps this
If I select Image Replacement it says not available.
    refers to
Create System Image in Windows 10
Have you created any this way? (Not recommended).

What problems are you experiencing with Windows that you need to resolve?

Have you been following the very often given advice to use disk imaging routinely and regularly e.g. Macrium Reflect?

I am not having a serious problem I would like to be prepared for the day when I need to recover from a sudden disaster.

I use Macrium Reflect to backup my System partition to an SSD I attached externally to my Personal Computer. What elese should I be doing?

    Thank you for your reply.

Good that you are using MR. You should be imaging ALL partitions comprising the O/S - that's typically 4 for a UEFI installation.

You can image any other partition as well if you wish.

I have S Restore scheduled to create a daily restore point. These are complementary to imaging and unlike that don't affect data. However, restoring is fragile and can suddenly start to fail, so cannot be relied on. Great when it works.

    Tutorial available.

Ensure your personal data is appropriately backed up.

Set e.g. Crystal Diskinfo (free) to continually monitor and report disk degradation vs thresholds.

    dalchina,

Thank you for directing me to boot to the Advance Startup Options for Windows 10. When I boot from my Windows 10 Pro Installation disk the options that appear are different from those presented in the video tutorial. Maybe I need a different installation disk?

When I boot from my installation disk the first screen says Windows and I click on Next. The next screen says Install Now and on the lower right side it says Repair, I click Repair. Now here is where my installation differs. It does not list Advanced Installation as an option. I can select Trouble Shoot and under that Advanced Installation does appear however the options are not exactly the same and do not work.

I am running Windows 10 Professional version 6.2.9200.0; and my update is 20H2. What do I need to do to update my installation disk?

When you say 'do not work' I guess we're back to your post #1.

    In post #2 I said
If I select System Restore it says "No restore points have been created."
    - Please confirm you had enabled System Restore and that you know there were restore points.

    - do you know you usually have to enable System Restore after each build upgrade?
If I select Go Back to Previous Version, it says not available.

When did you last upgrade your PC?

Do you understand this will not be available if you are outside this period and Windows.old has been automatically deleted?

Do Startup Repair and Command Prompt work, for example?

On a working computer, download the latest Windows 10 ISO image and burn it to your USB Flash drive overwriting the older version using the Media Creation Tool from the same page.
When you boot your computer with the Flash drive, Under the Repair Your Computer/Troubleshooting/Advanced, you should see Startup Repair, System Restore, Command Prompt etc.
If you can get into Windows, you can save the Windows 10 ISO image to the troubled computer and right click it and choose Mount, then Double click Setup.exe in the virtual DVD to do a Repair Install.

    Hello dalchina,

I went to Control Panel, System and selected System protection and found Protection Settings was turned Off. I clicked on Configure and turned System Protection On and set Disk Space Usage to be slightly larger than partition Sys (C:) See below

Now when I boot from Windows Installation USB drive and select Next / Repairs /Troubleshoot and press System Restore it restores a previous image of my system partition.

Thank you for telling me to enable the feature.

Good that it worked- but note that it's normally turned off after any feature update (upgrade).

Restore points are created rather erratically. You can use a tutorial to set a scheduled restore point- e.g. 1 every day.
