I disabled indexing and got all my space back and a little more. Everything ok until a few days ago.
Then, I lost 5g in space, no explanation. Like before, tried every disk cleaning method without success. Indexing, still deactivated, not a factor.
Today, the 5g has unexpectedly returned. No clue as to how or why, but I did have to reboot to complete a driver Windows Update, so maybe that had something to do with it?
windows updates, automatic program updates can do your size changing
i am cleaning my hard disk with bleachbit, cleanmgr plus, wise disc cleaner
update files, log files, debugging files, temp files can decrease your disc space
Thanks, but here we go again.
Yesterday I again got that dreaded message, "your running out of space". My available space was "0".
I ran TreeSizeFree, and the one thing that stood out was the page file was 4.8g. I know that doesn't seem extreme, but I didn't remember seeing it at that size before, and nothing else drew my attention.
I decided to turn it off, at least to temporarily get some space back. My available space jumped to 14.5gb. How does removing 4.8gb turn "0" into 14.5gb?
I re-enabled paging. Currently, recommended page file size 2904mb, allocated size 4945mb, which is what it was before disabling. Available space is 9.8gb.
For 3 weeks, everything was ok, then this stuff all over again, or at least if it's not the same thing, similar symptoms.
I thought maybe it's a result of turning indexing off? Maybe the page file system is compensating for that? But it starts happening after 3 weeks of normal behavior?
Nothing has been added to the system in terms of software, only windows updates.
you can make "pagefile size" stable, i use custom 1280mb-1280mb
so it will not change
Manage Virtual Memory Pagefile in Windows 10
it is a detailed tutorial here
Would it be Okay if I posted here?
I'm having same problem, I have done multiple scannig from diferent software
Thank you!
