Would it better to re-download the Windows 10 pro 2004 ISO?

I doubt the problem you're experiencing in that thread has anything to do with the iso file - except perhaps that it's Win 10, and O/S your PC was never designed for.

My suggestion: grab a new/spare disk, remove your current system disk, put in the new/spare disk, and see if you can successfully clean install and run Win 10 on that PC.

To clean install you need ro boot your PC from a Win 10 bootable disk. (MS Media creation tool - Google/see tutorial).

If that fails, then it's not worth pursuing upgrade problems.

If you're not in any hurry definitely wait a few months for MS to fix some of the 2004 bugs. None of them are critical for me but they are annoying, especially the printing problem but 2004 itself runs well for me other than that. A couple months should allow MS time to fix them but I don't know if they will release a new ISP or not as then tend to only do that with Feature Updates which are moving to a once a year cycle if I remember correctly.

More than likely the current 2004 ISO will remain for quite awhile with monthly CUs fixing any problems. I think I just contradicted myself, oh well.

Yes, wait 4,5, or even 6 months before you attempt to install 2004

1909 works perfectly, there is no reason to install 2004 yet.
