Upgrade from Win 7 Home Premium

I Just found your site - amazing!

Planning to upgrade to Win 10 from Win 7 Home Premium. All the chat talks about Win 7 Pro and Win 10 Pro. Will the procedures be the same for my upgrade? I do have my Win 7 Product Key.

Hi, you have these two basic options:
    Upgrade to Windows 10
    - that keeps everything you have and provides guidance and info on handling failures.

Clean Install Windows 10 Directly without having to Upgrade First
    - that's a clean install, keeping nothing.

Note: as a basic precaution, make sure you have an up to date disk image before starting e,g, Macrium reflect (free).
Things can sometimes go significantly wrong.

    Further:
There are some ways of making the use of Win 10 much easier, coming from 7, esp. with 3rd party utilities e.g. Open Shell (free) start menu- no Win 10 style menu can handle a more deeply nested (folders) start menu.

I tried to Download the Macrium tool from TenForum website. The only thing that happened was the cursor zoom (+) symbol turned on. I did a Microsoft Backup but chat says that is no longer valid.

    Thank you for your reply.

Macrium Software | Macrium Reflect Free

    - It's a free/commercial product- recommended here frequently.
