    Upgrade 1709 to 1803

    Hello Forum,
Thinking about upgrading from 1709 to 1803 version, and I am doing some preparations not to be dependant on being online to upgrade. What I did so far:
    1. Downloaded the Win 10 1803 (pro, English) installation file from this site:
    https://www.itechtics.com/windows-10..._All_languages
It is an “esd” file with a very long name.
    2. Converted the file into ISO with “Dism++” tool.
In the meantime I am visiting the MS update catalog for new updates, if any, downloading and installing manually.
Now how do I verify if the file is OK, if it contains everything, if it is the right version etc., before burning it on a cd.
I hope the licence I have for current version is good for the newer version.
    Answers will be appreciated
    Thanks

Why go to 1803 - skip to 1809 by downloading iso from MS using media creation tool, mounting as a drive and running setup.exe.

PC wil only try to upgrade to 1809 anyway.

    Licence is independent of version.

1903 is scheduled to be released in the next 30 to 60 days.

Why not upgrade to 1809 or 1903?

Upgrading to 1803 is not necessary to upgrade to 1809.

The Microsoft website has options to upgrade to 1803 or 1809.
There are third party websites that have iso available for older versions of Windows.

Most end users were not able to block automatic upgrades.
Not having an automatic upgrade most often indicates prior failure problems
What error codes or messages had you seen?

For those troubleshooting failure to upgrade it is always best to use a Windows 10 iso rather than the upgrade assistant.

I won't debate the merits of 1809 vs 1803, that's your choice (mine would be 1809). I will however point out that you can avoid all that effort and worry over whether it contains everything. You can still get the genuine 1803 ISO direct from Microsoft using Option Three in this tutorial.

Download Windows 10 ISO File | Tutorials

Using Option Three you currently have a choice of the October (1809) or April (1803) ISOs..

    Hello,
    Thanks for the answer.
To start with, opened Microsoft Edge, did not find any "button" pointing to "Download Windows 10".
So I cannot go any further.
    See attached screenshot from EDGE
    Thanks again.

You need to follow this step in the tutorial. The option in Edge is not on the Edge screen itself, but down deeper.

Use this option in the tutorial:

You need to follow the instruction in Option Three of the tutorial I gave you a link for.

Open Edge (that is Option Three, Step 1) and go to the normal page you would download the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft with this link: Download Windows 10 (that is Step 2). Then follow Step 3 and subsequent instructions...

    3. Press F12 to open Developer Tools,....

Yes, Motim. Please follow Bree's details. It's not hard at all.

I can understand why you don't want the latest version of Microsoft's often bug ridden latest update. This site is useful for downloading previous versions of Windows and Office https://heidoc.net/joomla/technology...-download-tool

You have to install the tool then you get access to the download links.

    Hello and thanks,
After long manouvering with Edge, the download is in progress 22 minutes to go if it does not break). There are still my questions: After burning the iso file on a cd/dvd, and starting the setup, will it erase my current system together with installed office ? have to enter licence and activation then install office again ? These questions bother me and I would like to know exactly all the answers before I do anything.
Right now my system (1709) is updated, checked today (26-Feb-2019).
Answers (detailed please) will be appreciated.
    Thanks
