What partitions do I need to install Windows 10 Pro Build 1709?

    I accessed the System Diagnostics. Results were: Memory Test-passed, Hard Drive Check-passed.

    I also increased the size of the System Reserve to 550MB partition as suggested as a solution to Windows 1709 not being able to install...made no difference. I still get the error: Oxc1900200 after the Windows 10 Update Assistant does its download.

    Addendum: Before the Windows 10 Update Assistant begins the download, it checks my system resources...after checking, it states that I have the resources necessary for the update. Hard drive space should not be a problem...2TB, 1790GB free on drive C:

    Manually upgrading is very easy.

    Download 1709 iso, mount it as a drive and run setup.exe

    Evidently, you have not read the previous posts.

    Nevertheless, by "Download 1709 iso..." do you mean to use the "Media Creation Tool" or "ISO files as links directly from Microsoft"?

    "...mount it as a drive..." How does one go about doing that?

    In File Explorer, double-click on a .iso file and it will be mounted as a virtual DVD drive with a new drive letter of its own. You could also right-click on it for a choice of actions, one of which is Mount.

    Thank you. I should be able to mount the file as a drive following your instructions. Also, I assume it is intended that it is intended that I download the ISO file directly from Mircosoft (no use the media creation tool).

    The Media Creation Tool does make an ISO direct from Microsoft, in fact it's probably the easiest way to make one.

    You choose its 'Create installation media for another PC' option, then let it use its default of 'use the recommended settings for this PC'. Full instructions in Option One of this tutorial.

    Download Windows 10 ISO File

    Downloading an ISO direct from Microsoft is a bit more complicated, it also means you need to know exactly which of the many choices to download (for example, do you need English or English International, Single Language, the N edition, 32 or 64 bit?).

    The MCT does all that for you and makes the right ISO for your PC.

    Downloaded ISO from Microsoft.

    Opened Windows Explorer.

    Mounted Windows.ISO.

    Clicked on setup.

    Windows setup started.

    Windows setup aborted with the statement: "You can't install Windows on a USB flash drive using setup."
