Hey Squeeken. I was using GeForce experience to dl the drivers. I did click clean install as well. I tried installing the drivers and everything as much as I could stand it. I finally gave up and went back to windows 7 last night. I tried just about everything I could think of and nothing worked.
Thanks for your help with the suggestions. Very kind of you to take the time to keep up with me while I've been going through this process. Hopefully Microsoft will work out some more of the bugs and I'll have a working windows 10 soon!
That is odd then, if you look at the manual for that laptop it shows using the power button for sleep mode.

Have you ever seen the win 10 desktop? If so you can use magic jellybean to retrieve your win 10 cd key and use the microsoft tool to create a dvd of win 10 to try a fresh install.

Everyone should do this to get the cd key and a dvd to install it later if need be.
This happened to me this morning. Drove me nuts!
Wish I had come here sooner! I have only one monitor on my Dell laptop, but I know it can do a second and I think I had one plugged in at some point in the past.
I ended up doing the "Reset my PC" option under repair, and it works fine. I wonder if video drivers were a part of it...but will try Windows-P if it happens when I get back home later today.
Hey guys I had to register just to comment on this thread. I had the same problem and gave up and went back to 8.1.
After reading up on this thread and doing a bit of research I managed to sort it out.
I have an Alienware X51 r2. I removed all monitors from my GPU (GeForce Gtx 970) and plugged one monitor via HDMI into my integrated graphics.
The upgrade and install process went as expected and had no problems and did not get the black screen. So the issue is definitely with dedicated GPUs.
Thanks for all the posts that suggested this or similar to this as its stopped me from going completely insane!
Alter having installed Windows 10, I have a black screen, no mouse, on my laptop screen. However, on my display connected to my Hdmi-port my desktop is present and everything seems to be ok.
Winkey+P doesn't work, as Windows doesn't recognise my laptop screen at all.
I have a Fujitsu laptop, NH532, with Intel HD and a Nvidia card. I can't turn any of my cards off in BIOS.
Any suggestions on how to solve this?
I have seen the desktop yeah, even played cs on it, doesnt matter now! Turned on my 8 year old pc, its working and im currently downloading windows 10 iso from their site! Im gonna keep you updated what happens if I fresh install :^)
