Win 10 screen way too bright, can’t adjust

    Hi
I’m recently having cataract operations on my eyes and at present my eyesight is pretty messed up. I’ve been attempting to adjust the PC screen while my eyes recover. However, I’ve got into a situation where the screen is now way to bright & I can’t seem to reset it back to normal or default. I’ve tried various methods as listed here but to no avail. For one there’s no Brightness Adjustment in Action Center. Is there a quick & easy way to set screen brightness back to normal?

You should have adjustment on the monitior its self or use night light in widows that does it with 1 click

If you can tell what monitor you are using someone may be able to help navigate the adjustments for it.

Brightness adjustments using Windows settings is usually limited to laptops.

External monitors attached to a PC have their own settings buttons.

If you've had eye operation(s), avoid quick fix solutions like tinted screen covers, unless suggested/recommended by your appropriate health care professional.

Thanks for your suggestions. I did consider the monitor settings but since I haven't touched their settings since I first installed them and since I've been adjusting Windows settings lately I thought it was unlikely to be the monitors.
Oh well, I've adjusted the monitors and set most things to dark mode so I guess I'll live with it even though it's far from ideal. I'm now wondering what's happened to my eyes.
    Thanks.

You might also want to check the Nvidia Control Panel settings...

Another option that gives more flexibility, depending on what suits your eyesight, is to use light mode, with appropriate colours for window backgrounds, frames and titlebars.

You can pick the shades to suit you:

Check your graphics control panel and ajust brightness and gamma.

One other possible solution is here:
