HDR can't be enabled, but should be supported.

I have an HP ZBook 15u G5 laptop, which has Intel UHD Graphics 620 hardware as well as Radeon Pro WX3100 video hardware. I also have my desktop PC that is using a nVidia 3060 RTX video card. Both of these computers are connected using a DisplayPort cable to a 4K 60Hz USB 3.0 KVM. This KVM outputs HDMI to my display - a 40" 4K Samsung QLED TV, which has HDR+ enabled.

When I have the KVM switched to my desktop PC, my display is running 4K @ 60Hz with HDR enabled. Everything works as expected and the display looks great. This proves out that the connection and display support HDR.

When I have the KVM switched to my HP Laptop, my display is running 4K @ 60Hz, but HDR cannot be enabled. I've tried installing the latest video drivers for both the Intel and Radeon hardware, but there is no change.

I have verified that this laptop should be able to support HDR. The Settings page for Display -> Advanced Settings identifies my Samsung display being connected to the Intel UHD Graphics 620 adapter. I don't know if the Radeon hardware comes into play at all.

What could be the issue that is blocking HDR from being enabled? Are there BIOS settings that could disable HDR?

This is under Windows 10 Pro, v 21H2, build 19044.1706 with experience pack 120.2212.4170.0.

[edit]Just checked the BIOS. Set for Hybrid mode with 512MB of memory[/edit]

What happens when you connect the laptop directly to the display device? Laptops can have two GPU's in them, one for the main display and a second one for the display output which can be only up to 1080p.

The laptop has DisplayPort output and the display only has HDMI input. I don't think the laptop has HDMI - but I will check later today. The KVM does the conversion from DisplayPort to HDMI for both my computers.

Your Laptop hardware does not support HDR, probably not the integrated UHD graphics 620 either.

    AMD notes:
As of June 2017. Product is based on the DisplayPort 1.4 Specification published February 23, 2016, and has passed VESA’s compliance testing process (excluding HDR) in June 2017. GD-123
