Display driver does not always load at boot

I have a Geforce GT730 graphics card in my PC. Following an automatic Windows 10 update I constantly get a corrupted screen and I have to re-boot sometimes once but often many times.

I have tried updating the graphics driver and have reinstalled Windows and tried every suggestion posted on the web that I have found without success. I have noticed that windows tried to install an Nvidia graphics driver but failed. The update is now hidden so that it should not try to reinstall as I have the latest driver from the maker's download site.

It seems to me that the driver sometimes is not being loaded at boot time but I don't understand why that should not always happen; I would have thought it would either load or it wouldn't?

    Any help appreciated.

It sounds to me like an intermittent hardware issue. Do you have another card you can try or could you try the card in another PC?

It's a new graphics card which I purchased to try to resolve the problem so I don't think that's the issue?

    Please try this:

    Download
    Display Driver Uninstaller
    Extract DDU on desktop
Download these drivers Nvidia 461.09 and save it to desktop

    Reboot computer in to the
    Safe Mode use option one
    Run Display Driver Uninstaller
    Click on the options
Check Prevent downloads of drivers from Windows update when Windows search for a driver for a device (close, ok)
    Select device type GPU (Nvidia)
    Clean and restart
Now run Nvidia drivers installer 461.09
    Select custom
Uncheck EVERYTHING except the GPU Driver and PHYSX
    Check the CLEAN INSTALL box
    Finish install
    Reboot

Thanks Grom0X I will try your solution. I have used DDU previously but haven't disabled the update and the driver you suggest is not the one I have currently so I'll give it a go and report back.

    Grom0X

FYI I did try to install 457.51 previously but I got a message that it was incompatible so I used 375.70 instead but hopefully 461.09 will work.

No good I'm afraid. Error message below:

    Nvidia cannot continue.

The Nvdia graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows.

This graphics driver could not find compatible hardware.

    Very strange?
