    The Linux Live test is important. It will tell you (us) if this is really a software or hardware problem.

    There are Linux Distros (Ubuntu is one) that you can download and put on a USB stick to boot from, if that is what you need.
    You do not need to install Linux on the hard drive! It will run from the USB stick if you choose that option when you boot it.

    I learned that it was AeroGlass. It's conflicting with an update and crashing. I uninstalled it and everything is normal.

    I'll marked it as solved for now, but I'm not really holding my breath that this GPU won't also stop displaying anything in the near future. I still have no idea why the last two I had died.
