    I hooked up a 42" LG TV (just for sheets and greens) to the HDMI port of the TITAN...

    No go...

    This TITAN simply does not like big monitors.. :^/

    The Titan appears to have an HDMI 1.4 port. That won't support UHD (3840 X 2160) at 60 frames per second. (30fps, yes.)

    I think it has a DisplayPort 1.2 output, which can do UHD at 60 Hz. No idea what is causing your problem with the Apple monitor.
