I dont believe this, windows may be hosed.
I told you I restarted, so I came upstairs for maybe 30 minutes. When I went back down, silence, black screen and circulating white dots.
I let that run a while then unplugged the power.
I restarted and it is back to rotating black dos.

So windows installed its own video driver and it hosed itself?
Is there a safe mode to boot into?
Then what?
How can i even get to safe mode without a recovery drive?
I do have another win10 pc here at home.

So just unplug a couple more times and maybe it will do the safe mode thing?

Was just looking for a magic bullet technique and closest I've found is the following ...
- Shut Down completely
- Hold shift and click Power button then Restart while keeping shift key pressed.
That should jump start into safe mode
It did present the keyboard selection with a blue screen, BUT!, the keyboard does not work, the mouse does not work.
I dont know what it is doing was that a safe mode screen?
I tried reboot with a different ps2 keyboard, no help.
So I powered off and on and it is back revolving circular dots.
I will try this shift key thing.

It is real hard you know, after a while of struggling to retain an objective mind...
Plus this PC is in a cabinet. I use wireless keyboard and mouse. I had to plug in a cabled keyboard, squeezer in there, hold shift down while blindly feeling for the power button.
That screen does look like an install in progress, for a complete OS, I can't think of anything that you have been trying that could cause that
Did you by any chance select to refresh the system?
Shift+Restart is to boot into Advanced Startup. You can then select to boot into Safe Mode from there like in Option 1 below.

NO, I did not.
I am on the other win10 PC creating a system recovery drive onto an 8gb usb drive.
Message was If I copy system files onto it, I can use that to restore the OS.
