It does the job via registry fix, but why on earth Microsoft removed it from the settings - really don't get it.

Anyway, thanks guys. I'm pretty sure it will be helpful to a lot of people !

As my dad used to say to my mom - "You're a g**d*** jewel!" I was gobsmacked to see that MS had dropped these font settings from the Creators update; I have used them for decades to deal with my visual impairment, as they offered much finer control than Windows Accessibility Options. The reg edits worked perfectly. Thank you very much!

Thanks for the helpful posts on the .reg files and the font update tool!

I'm probably preaching to the choir, but Microsoft seems to have totally lost its cultural memory as to some of the original goals and motivations for Windows when it was first developed.

Consistency of interactions (buttons, menus, etc.) with user control of cosmetics was central to the original releases of Windows and of OS/2.

Now Microsoft is driving hard back to the famous Model T business plan - any color you want as long as it's black.

Before the options were ripped out of Windows I used border widths (better than 1 pixel borders) and different colors for active and inactive windows (distinctly different, not subtly shaded).

I've never used a white background; always "money green", one of the original 16 window colors. I remember setting up a non-white background for some of our older employees back in the early 90s (they were happy to get rid of the glaring white) - now I'm one of the older employees and I still don't like white backgrounds.

Then came themes, but an ordinary user (or non-Windows developer) couldn't create them. Now almost no choices left.

Really unacceptable, but that's what you get with a monopoly.

You can still manually change all of those using the .reg files from the tutorials below except for "palette titles" in Windows 10 Creators Update. "Palette titles" are no longer available.

I was really flummoxed when I installed the Creators Update and then couldn't find a way to enlarge the icon text, etc. This solution was perfect and worked for me. Thank you so much! You saved me hours of frustration.

Why MS keeps deprecating its products and making users jump through hoops like this is mystifying.
