Windows 10: File explorer always reverts to top of window when wallpaper changes
File explorer always reverts to top of window when wallpaper changes
This issue occurs when "Automatically select highlight color from my wallpaper" checkbox is ticked.
When I open Windows Explorer and display a long list of folders and/or files, going down through them, each time the wallpaper changes Windows Explorer reverts to the top of the list even if an element is selected lower in the list.
From update to update this issue never has been fixed. However, I read some time ago this issue was known by MS.
Do other users experience such an issue? Is there a way to fix it anyway (e.g. using registry) ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi, fortunately I don't find that happening, but there could be many variables.
Tried: explorer, details view
Picture changed by:
a. Wally, my wallpaper program
b. in Settings, Picture, browse
c. in Settings, Slideshow
Do you find the same thing happening in Safe Mode?
When I open File Explorer the window opens maximized and will not let me resize it. The minimize (-) and close (x) buttons work ok but the center button doesn't do anything when picked. I am new to windows 10, my old system was XP. Any help/ideas...

Whenever I start to type in the search field, I never get to finish typing because explorer opens a new window right away after the first character.
EDIT: Also, double clicking folders opens a new window as well.
So I upgraded to Win 10 and so far I like it, but a problem which I find annoying:
Whenever I open file explorer the window tends to move from where I placed it. What I mean is I place the window directly in the center, as I like it. When I open...
Every time I open File Explorer the window jumps to a new position (possibly a glitch). Is there a way to reset these settings through the registry?
