Finished Windows 10 updates, now nothing works
Did windows 10 updates on my Lenovo idea pad laptop this morning and now have myriad of problems. Look everywhere for solutions, tried multiple restarts, nothing works.
1. Cannot connect to internet. Can't even access network or connection screens through control panel or bottom desktop toolbar(nothing happens when clicked)
2. Browsers don't work correctly, Firefox won't open at all, Chrome opens a blank white window with invisible address bar(???), edge doesn't even seem to be installed anymore(??????)
3. Ctrl alt del goes to a blank black screen, have to press ESC to exit. (Can still get to task manager through other means though)
4. Cannot access start menu. Can right click on it to access device menu/ task manager/control panel/etc but nothin happens when clicked normally
5. Cannot get right click menus from most things, namely the bottom desktop toolbar, most program icons do nothing when clicked (but some still do...?)
6. Notifications do not appear (though I can still see the number of them that I have) and can't access action center or updates page
Tldr: installed updates, no internet now, most programs/menus do nothing when clicked, help?
Update: I managed to get online somehow. Firefox finally opened after like an hour and was able to launch it in "Safe mode" (so none of my add-ons work...). Also managed to get to the Network Connections folder by right-clicking on the start menu (which now does not work anymore AT ALL, left-click or right click!) and manually connect to my Wi-Fi. I have internet connection and a working browser(for now), but other than that, everything else is still being stupid. I can't even access my display settings/personalization by right-clicking on the desktop as I get an error prompt that reads:
"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."
Without the right-click on the start menu I don't even know how to access the control panel or command prompt or anything. I could really use some help here guys....
