    The plot thickens

Cannot make this stuff up i mean now Microsoft Recall, yeah total recall more like it.

A chronological time machine that is going to track your thought process and then use that to capitalize on what sentience is. The Ai needs to know what a vague distant memory looks like to humans so it will study through patterns how we forgot things that are on the tip of our tongue, that we want to recall but cannot quite get it out.

Taking photos of your screen and then also tracking your usage in a chronological sense so that you can go back to a relative thought easily if you forget it.

Of course they are going to put out articles claiming its nothing to worry about.

That is a response copilot would say, an i am aware, if you have been recalling i am against all this as a consumer.

Luckily, it can be easily disabled.

Umm.. I can quite often find what I've used with 'Recent' lists (for which I use 3rd party programs for convenience), along with 'Favourite' files and folders... and I know that info is held on my PC... and it's available now, not on some super duper computer with extra AI processors added on...

But I suppose being able to say "Show me what I was doing on the 24th of January at 3p.m." might be kind of interesting.. a couple of times..

Its more obtrusive when it want to take photos of your whole screen and seeing what you see, Video is also only Photos played really fast i don't think we know this granular but i mean if it really wants then basically its saying it could record yo too if it really wanted.

The Ai want to learn what sentience is but now its fully going to watch you i mean Space Odyssey HAL started off benign and then after time started watching everything they do at all times.

Having recent lists and cached data in the Windows FS is less obtrusive to taking images of your computer screen at intervals. Ethically how would tha go down for a journalist that is covering something sensitive? or a Lawyer that has sensitive records on their screen? or a DR or who ever us as consumer who have a right to privacy.

"i can see your lips moving dave"

where does the line draw? Who is auditing this stuff? and i guess if you have enough money you can do what ever you want in 2024 and beyond.

Just reading now Ironically Elon Musk has come out and said that Microsoft Recall is a privacy concern that is rich coming from someone who just got a cyborg with a brain chip that they are probably reading everything it does, that guy is screwed and has no privacy at all.

I have said this before Elon is a wolf in sheep clothing imo and he is on one hand carrying on about regulation and Ai is going to be a problem yet he is the poster child of Ai and has a cyborg now that can connect its brain to the internet.

Having Ai is not advocating against its potential dangers, someone who talks about drugs being bad and advocates agisnt them is not going to take drugs on the regular for example.

Ok so after some more reading they are trying to defuse it by saying that its encrypted and safe. This works fine for a computer that is used over multiple users where those users are not going to be able to view the content because of that encryption.

But What about Microsoft? what does this mean? it means that the new recall has the potential to spy on you 100% of the time. Why? Because its states that it is "Continuously taking pictures", Video is just picture so if that is the case it is recording you.

What else does this mean? it means that being on a system they design then they have the ability to know the keys to encrypted data, With the billions of users on their system then they cannot store all that data remotely. This has to be why cloud computing is becoming more warranted it means all that data stay localized and they just retrieve it when they want.

Microsoft can open and scan password-protected Zip archives in the cloud | TechSpot

^ i guess when they are breaking into the very basic types of encryption then that is telling a story. How valid that is who knows but i mean the chess pieces line up more an more each day.
