I also started to get this error after 4/9/24 update and my windows 10 pc's mb is not secure boot optional. It does have uefi but not secure boot; the only way I could figure out to stop error was uninstall update dut don't want to really do that. Is there another work around to stop the logging or will it affect my pc at all, thanks.
You can prevent specific logging of certain events with a registry tweak but I don't know the guid after the fact I've already blocked it. There could be something more to the issue so you might want to hold off on hiding it for the time being, not to mention registry tweaking can be dodgy if done incorrectly.

If you pull up the event viewer and make a note of the Guid within the Details tab with System expanded, I can help with preventing the log, if you really want to. Make a backup beforehand, though.

    Same error after 5/14/24 update.

No red flags in Reliability History. When I enter BIOS setup I don't have option for secure boot. So i guess there is no way to fix it, just ignore, right?

Righty-oh, cheers for getting back with that.

Hold your Windows key, then tap the r key. Type "regedit" without the quotes and hit enter.

Copy and paste the following without quotes into the regedit location bar and hit enter:

    "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI\Autologger\EventLog-System\{7d5387b0-cbe0-11da-a94d-0800200c9a66}"

On the right, modify the "Enabled" entry so that it reads 0 instead of 1.

You should no longer be notified of the error in event viewer from then on.

Someone posted this problem in Microsoft’s Feedback Hub:

    https://aka.ms/AAqfges

If You have app You can upvote it. Highly doubt MS will do anything about this, but who knows.

Your screenshot shows your PowerShell console is not running as elevated... so the last command - Confirm-SecureBootUEFI - is unable to be processed due to insufficient privileges.

    1. Right-click on Start and choose Windows PowerShell (Admin). This will create an elevated console showing a titlebar of Administrator: Windows PowerShell like this:
    Event 1796 TPM-WMI-elevated_powershell_console.png
    2. Try the last command again, i.e. Confirm-SecureBootUEFI.

    Hope this helps...

Thanks Ric, you're a star- that fixed it!
    I'm getting 'False' now.
Numpty question - do I need 'Secure Boot' ?

    I'll let others answer that.

(Note: A result of $False shows that the computer supports Secure Boot but it's disabled.)
