Windows 10 Boot Manager - can't change back to GUI

Hi All, I'm a new member with an issue I can't resolve - hence looking for help. Sorry for length of rant but hope the details may help another member find something I've missed. I'm running a desktop using Win10 Enterprise (non-domain) V 22H2, Build 19045.4046, fully patched with Macrium V8.1 as backup and Malwarebytes Premium V4.6.8.311 for AV. My boot drive is a 500GB Samsung 980 SSD with 3 GPT partitions, Windows (C:\) is the third partition. For reasons to do with the original history of the machine (when it ran Win7 Enterprise in a company domain) there was no Windows Recovery Partition on the boot drive. Windows Boot Manager ran as a GUI, offering two options, WIn10 or Macrium WinPE.

About 6 weeks ago I was "experimenting" with some other applications (sadly I forget which) and later noticed some backups had started running late, or worse not at all. After much time-wasting it seemed that something was loading after about 10 minutes from a reboot, and whatever "something" was it was preventing Macrium from running properly. I decided to uninstall Macrium and install AOMEI Pro. I created a rescue boot manager entry, but on reboot the GUI had vanished and was now a text-only version. On the other hand AOMEI ran scheduled backups to time and did not have Macrium's delay/opening issues - but I decided I preferred Macrium!

So I un-installed AOMEI and re-installed a fresh copy of Macrium with a request to them for advice. They suggested removing all non-MS auto-start services and boot apps. Result: Macrium ran back to time and opened reliably - but the Boot Manager screen was still text-only. Tried using BcdEdit to recover the GUI but this did not work for me. I'm no programmer and am reluctant to experiment with the command line.
Phew! Apologies again for the length of this first post.
    Thanks and Regards, Exie.

You mean the Boot Menue and not Manager.
You ruined your BCD with a lot of useless ramdisk entries
What is the base of your Recovery Environment?
    It should be Build: 3920
    Check your WinRE.wim Build No.
If it's not 3920 you can delete the folders in (C:\)
    - AomeiRecovery
    - boot\macrium
    and update your WinRE.wim first.
Then run the Macrium Rescue Builder again.

    Did you use this command:
    bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy standard ?

In order to clear your BCD run this command
    Code:
    bcdedit /enum all
    and post the result

    Wow! What prompt responses!
Thanks firstly to Cereberus whose suggestion I followed - and voila! - all sorted. Very grateful to you!

Secondly thanks too, to Pentagon, but your advice was (and I said I'm no expert) a little over my head. I'm not sure about ramdisk entries nor how to discover the build number of my Recovery Environment. I did run the command bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy standard prior to my cry for help - but after a reboot it did not work. But I do appreciate your help - I would have attempted to follow through had Cereberus' reply not solved it. I suspect though this thread might have been much longer!

So the appearance, whether it is "Standard" or "Legacy" is more important than a reliable and solid Recovery Environment.

    To Pentagon:
"So the appearance, whether it is "Standard" or "Legacy" is more important than a reliable and solid Recovery Environment."

Not sure what you mean Pentagon - your comment looks suspiciously like a value judgement.
As I said, I have a paid copy of Macrium Reflect V8. Its recovery function has been tested using the boot recovery menu option and it worked. But thanks again for your assistance.

What graphics menu OP wants is his business, not yours.
