Import Pictures
I connected (USB) my Canon S110 camera to the computer, then went to This PC and right clicked on camera. I selected Import Pictures, selected the pictures and specified a target folder. The selected pictures were downloaded and went into my folder. I repeated this to try to get another set of pictures from the camera. But immediately I get an error message that Import Pictures is already running and that I must close it before I can run it a second time. But I don't see it running.
I went to task manager which seems to show it running somewhere:
Windows Host Process (Rundll32) --> Import Pictures and Videos
But when I select close it just closes the second instance that displays the error message. So I can't find where it thinks the first instance is still running, nor can I close it. So I can't run Import Pictures again.
Now I see that Import Pictures apparently never ended/closed, even after the pictures from the first (only) import were transferred. The Import Pictures window is still open. I have to cancel it to end it but apparently even after pressing "cancel" somehow/somewhere it's still running.
The only way I was able to get a second set imported was to shutdown the computer and then re-start it. I can hardly do this for each set I want to upload.
Until now I used the Canon software (CameraWindowLauncher) on Win 7 computer to upload pictures but it won't run on Win 10.
