    Numbers Lock on Startup

When I power up the pc and the login screen is displayed awaiting my password I always have to press the NumLock key to activate because my password contains numbers. Is there a way for it to always be enabled so I won't have to do this extra step?

    -thx

    Hello mate,

You can test to see if this below may do the trick.

I use what Brink posted and find it maintains the status of the NumLock, what it is at shutdown/reboot is how it comes back up but only with keyboards with a Number Pad, haven't tried it on a Notebook without the keypad but they usually have a way to get the numbers with a combination of the Fn + another key to turn it on or off, usually marked with same color as the Fn key.

I just use "Boot up Numlock*" in BIOS. Numlock always starts on that way.

    * I can't remember the exact wording, but it's something like that.

Recently I posted the above. I now re-visit as there was a minor omission. When I power up the pc the login screen is NOT displayed. It is the lock screen that is displayed. I then must hit any key AND THEN the password-required login is displayed. I wish to know if it is possible to bypass the lock screen and power up directly to the login screen.

    -thx

I see that the admin has inserted my new topic into this one. As the original post was resolved as per the original wording (post#1 here and quoted), I posted a new topic because the resolved issue is not relevant. Sorry if the reference to this topic causes confusion but this really is a fresh help request.

Sorry. Thought it was an addon at time.

You can use an option in the tutorial below to disable the lock screen to always go directly to the sign-in screen.
