If already on True, set to False. If set on False, then set it to True.

thanks pepanee restarting in troublshooting mode made the issue go away then I disabled my FF add-ons one by one, it looks like an add-on called Swift Selection Search was causing the issue. Will post back if it recurs, probably should not declare victory yet until it runs clean for a day.
You're welcome. I'm assuming there's a high chance that this could be the thing causing the problem, since you said things are working correctly now, and that add-on seems to have to do with copy/pasting:
So yea, give it a day or two / close off Firefox every now and then, and try copy pasting.
(Earlier I saw you type Control+V & Control+P. Don't use Control+P for copy/pasting; that is the universal combo for Printing things.)
Use:
Control+C = Copy
Control+V = Paste
