Application not found error in bitlocker drive

If I click on the BitLocker drive - a data-only USB drive - "Application not found" is displayed. This happens on a new machine and no such message is returned if it is on my old machine. I have three old machines of the same generation. No such problem with any of the machines.
OSes on the new machines and the old machines are all W10 Pro.

Could you fill us in on what things you have tried thus far so that we don't rehash things you have already tried? When I search on that message I get a lot of articles with possible solutions.

I have not done anything. Microsoft community forum is the only hit when I Googled but saw any lead to solve the problem.

Obviously, I am trying to unlock the drive, but no dialogue is displayed in which I enter the password to unlock the drive.

I can resolve the problem by unlocking it on the old machine and locking it again on the new machine.
I thought it can be unlocked on any machine as long as the correct password is used. Could anyone shed light on more details of Bitlocker encrypted data drive?

Search the tutorial index. There's a link to it at the top of the page.

    Best of luck,
