English (United States) for adding language is greyed.

I want to add English (United States) as an additional display language for W10 22H2. I understand that it can be done on any base language. But as seen in the screenshot below, English (United States) is greyed.

The tutorial should get you through

My problem is that the language in the list is greyed as shown in the screenshot so that it cannot be selected.

I do not know which step of that tutorial you are referring to.

Perhaps removing then re-adding US English & changing the display language using these separate tutorials will work better for you.

The step where a list of optional languages are displayed.

The US English is presently not installed, and there is no other language except a base language which came with W10 22H2.

Edit: So I just installed the US English. That is it. The US English is greyed because I took the first step of "Add Language" and forgot completing whole steps.

Well, if it's not installed you cannot select it.

This discussion might be simpler if you can explain which version of Windows you're using (English-US, other local language version?).

So you were then able to follow the procedures through & complete what you wanted?

Please see the edit added to my post above.
    The base language is Japanese.

Thank you all for trying to help me.
