    minor annoyance

for the last 2 days whenever i want to log in here, the following isn't happening anymore , i used to click on username box and a dropdown would appear that i can click on (my username) and then i can proceed to fill in password.
the dropdown disappeared now i actually have to type out my 3 character username
it's kinda bothering me , why now ?
the little "remember me" box is ticked , i haven't cleared cache in my browser , so what gives ?

You may have cleared you browser cache or cookies some other way... like CCleaner, maybe.

I don't use Wise, I use CCleaner. In CCleaner there's a way to whitelist certain cookies that I want to keep... like the ones that remember my login for this site. I would think Wise would have a similar whitelist somewhere.

Here's step 1 from the Wise Cleaner user guide...

    Step 1: Scan the system

After launching Wise Disk Cleaner, you will see a big green button on the upper right, click it to start scanning the system.

Wise Disk Cleaner offers 7 types of items for cleanup, but not all of them are selected. We recommend using the default settings if you don't know more about the items.

Please DO NOT clean up the following items unless absolutely necessary.

Traces in Computer -> Web Browser Trace -> Saved Passwords
Traces in Computer -> Web Browser Trace -> Form History
    Traces in Computer -> Cookies

I didn't see any mention of a whitelist.
But... there still may be one.

ok i checked it out and don't see any whitelist thingy all i can see is to exclude cookies to sites, added tenforums didn't make a difference.
my thinking is ,even after i cleared everything in Wise ,and then login/out several times on a site, surely it would go back to storing cookies, cache again?

    That I don't know.
I do know, that when I whitelist the cookies for Ten Forums... CCleaner remembers.

I just ran the "Custom Clean... which among other things, cleans out all the cookies (left side) that aren't whitelisted (right side).
So I ran Custom Clean, and then went to TigerDirect.com and youtube, and you can see the cookies they generated, on the right side.

This is why I like CCleaner. After you run Custom Clean then go to a site, like TF... you will see all the cookies that need to be whitelisted, for that site.

funny enough , i used to be on CCleaner cause that's what all the PCs at my work are using and i thought those IT guys must know something right , then i read a couple of posts here and came to conclusion that Wise is superior to CCleaner so i went with that.
but anyhow ,i don't think it's got anything to do with the cleaners .
    i just don't know .
it's not a biggie , i can live with typing my username lol just thought its curious

I avoid these cleaners. There are too many reports of problems, and little in the way of benefits. Best choice: just avoid them.
