Ran out of options please help

    Hello, thank you for reading.

I like to think I am pretty good with computers but recently I have been having issues loading pictures while offline. Like if I open up a folder with pictures in it there is a delay before the images load. I know the delay is normal but this is much more slower than I have ever noticed before and it is causing video games to load slower. Opening some programs is slow and are unresponsive when starting (Malwarebytes) .

    A little more info,

    I have a SSD

All this happens while my CPU, memory, disk, network, GPU are low.

It happens when my anti virus or any other non window program is off.

I have ran Virus & Malware scans and I have not seen any unwanted processes running in task manager. I also have popup blocker, web protection and never do anything other than gaming and Youtube on my computer.

I have, disabled all non windows upon start up, restarted, updated, reinstalled Optane memory & graphics driver, checked disk, checked for memory leak, checked integrity, deleted everything but 3 games, cleaned up unnecessary folders (manually), did Disk Cleanup, used CCleaner to clean again and cleaned the registry, used a non windows program to see if anything was hidden (nothing was found). The same issues are still happening.

I know I was all over the place, I am really out of options, PLEASE if you have anything!

nate1515 hello and welcome to tenforums ,

See if Run SFC Command in Windows 10 finds and fixes any problems

If problem persists, see if it happens if you boot to safe mode, and if necessary, try a clean boot.

What app do you use to browse the pictures?

Consider trying an alternative like IrfanView app, etc.

Like opening up youtube, you would expect the pictures of the youtube videos to load fast ( if you have fast internet ) mine are slow. This is the same thing that happens in steam; the main page opens up slow and any page with a image. In my video game, the images which should be loading without me noticing are loading slowly ( this is a new change). But not just with stuff that requires the internet, if I open up my pictures folder the mini images load slow. When I open up my music folder the artist load slow. I guess a example would be if you have really slow internet and you are trying to browse pictures on google images, the images would load one at a time and slow ( this happens to me while not online however)

I am testing your stuff, thank you very much.

    Thanks for the details.

IrfanView is a image viewer, don't install it for this situation.

Did you change anything about your PC software or hardware configuration before this slowness began that might be relevant and causing it possibly?

Usually the slowness I see in Windows may be associated with indexing. For example, Photos loads slowly the first time after startup/restart, seems to be indexing the drive/s looking for images it can open, but closing and later reopening is usually faster.

No changes, no updates, no downloads, nothing not done before. The only thing I did the day before was a pretty long session of Stellaris. I was thinking it could be a graphics card issue but if my graphics card was failing I would have noticed stuttering, glitching, black waves etc. The only thing I have left to do is the last resort, I feel like I have checked the windows files enough to find a issue however, are you sure that is the only thing?

Anyway I could see if this is the issue or test any solutions to the issue? I would say it is faster to reopen....

Check drive health with Crystal Disk Info.

You already tried safe mode and clean boot?

Do make a full backup of your boot drive Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect first if you decide to do Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade
