    Pinning Word File to Taskbar

How do I pin a Word 2003 file to my Win 10 Taskbar? (I know it works because I've done it before.)

    Thanks

    Correction

The problem is that there is no "take Ownership" in the context menu for anything. It is missing. How can I restore it?

I'm not sure what you mean? Is that in the tutorial I linked?

There is no need to Take Ownership of the file??
Just follow the instructions in the link in post #2 You just need to change the extension of the file name temporarily till you pin it to the taskbar. then rename it back to the original extension.

You don't need to do this for what you are trying to achieve in this thread, but if you want to add Change Owner to the Context menu, instructions are here Add Take Ownership to Context Menu in Windows 10

What happens if you just drag a word file to an empty area of the taskbar? That worked for me with a LibreOffice document.
Once pinned to the taskbar, I could then move it around to a different position on the taskbar, if desired.

?? You are not following the instructions in the link. Pin File to Taskbar in Windows 10 Please read it, it also has pictures.
Let me surmise; In File Explorer, you are going to the Toolbar to View you want to put a check in the Box For Hidden Files and for File Name Extensions. With File Name Extension checked you now should see the File Extension of the Word file (ie) FileName.doc Right click this File and choose Rename Rename this files Extension to .exe (ie) FileName.exe. Now Right click this file and choose to Pin to Taskbar. This will create a shortcut to the file in the Taskbar. Go back to where the original file is and Right click it and choose Rename then Rename the file to the original extension (ie) FileName.doc Go to the shortcut on the Taskbar and right click it and choose Rename and rename it with the original extension (ie) FileName.doc

    capisc?!

What happens if you just disregard the tutorial and drag your PW.doc file to the taskbar empty area?
