Windows 10 has no bootloader - no BCD - help!

Ok I swore I just posted this but it's gone?

I'll try again, long story short, I have no bootloader. I cannot get BCD to work properly and msconfig is empty under my boot tab.

I've tried bootbcd in command prompt, didn't work (no errors just didn't give me a working boot menu), and DISM++64 sees TWO Windows 10 installs but only one of them actually exists.

This is my partition and drive structure, there is no way for me to get into safe mode.

I tried EasyBCD but wasn't exactly sure what I was doing.

What's the easiest way to get this all working - I'd rather not go into the recovery mode command prompt.

Appreciate assistance (original attempt was more detailed than this)

    Hi Danny!
If you can access the Advanced startup settings
Boot to Advanced Startup Options in Windows 10

and open an Command prompt and type:
    bootrec /rebuildbcd

    and show the results.

Hi JB thanks for the reply.

A few things I should clarify - this is a GPT and UEFA/EFI setup so bootrec doesn't exactly work.

But I did what you asked and it found two windows installs - one on F: and one on E: which is about as random as it gets.

I tried to add both to bootloader anyway but it told me the device couldn't be found. Mainly because, I believe, this isn't MBR.

I will add a bit more to this story - I had a system fail some weeks ago, and could only get windows reinstalled on another SSD - that is F:

I managed to get my original drive back (disk 3 or C: )with yet another new install but it doesn't seem to have its own bootloader working at all - only that remnant from F: (I thought I'd removed that install).

    It's all a bit messy!

Hope this helps you figure this one out because it's breaking my head!

2 Windows Installs? X: is normal, it is WinRE install, may I request your screenshot of BIOS settings on Boot order so I can find if it's 2 Windows Boot Managers.

Also, I can have you run this:
Batch files for use in BSOD debugging [Source: Batch files for use in BSOD debugging

Hi, batch file won't work - edit copy doesn't work - copy is greyed out. Appears not to generate anything?

And it's just the one boot manager, and it's UEFI not BIOS. I've looked in there more times than I can tell you. Yes, I know about X, this specifically said E and F?

Appreciate your continued assistance, hopefully we find a way to crack this.

Also the temp folder doesn't have any diskparinfo file generate in it following this batch file.

To clear up the two windows installs, it's clearly referring in DISM to the old F: install I had and clearly didn't remove completely. Remnants are still there somewhere.

Your Boot drive, Drive C: is Disk 3. You have to boot from Disk 3 Not Disk 0.

    Run this batch files:
Tuneup1.bat - Click here to go to the BSOD batch repository to download and run this batch file.
Tuneup_plus_log.bat Click here to go to the BSOD batch repository to download and run this batch file.

If you finished, run this again:
DiskParInfo.bat - Click here to go to the BSOD batch repository to download and run this batch file.

    Post here the results

I know? Don't recall saying otherwise? I said in the follow up I got my disk 3 back, the original disk. Which was indeed the boot disk.

Anyway, unfortunately the C: drive was damaged beyond repair. As you can all see, it was missing key system partitions, and was irreparable - the structure was completely broken and upside down.

I had to run windows install, use the partition manager to delete all the messy partitions and let windows reinstall clean and properly rebuild the structure.

I used Macrium reflect to backup all my data, and now disk 3, C:, is completely healthy, with everything working now as it should. It took me about 4 hours to do it, start to finish, but it's finally fixed.

It would have taken forever to fix this mess, better to wipe it out and begin again.

Oh, you do the only fix of that, it's clean install.
Post here if you completed the clean install or you have problems

I can tell you're trying to help, and it's always appreciated, but English doesn't appear to be your strong suit on an English-speaking forum.

I clearly said in that post that I did a Windows reinstall clean and that everything is now working as it should? So yes, clean install completed and no problems.

In short, the partitions previously were all broken, wrong, incorrect order and in truth I don't know how they ended up that bad.

Everything is now completely fixed, my two users accounts are already exactly as they used to be but it all works. Nice bonus!
